If you have not heard it said here yet, MyDetroitHustle.com is about highlighting the combination of a good product and a strong hustle. That’s what’s necessary to succeed in business. With that being said, I have to talk about a clear example of that combination that pulled up in Detroit recently. John Jiggs, Nam Nitty, Rockwelz, and M.O.U.F., the Mxnxpxly Family, definitely put on a strong display of hustle during their recent stop in Detroit. So, let’s talk about some of the good things I saw from them.
The first thing is, they are moving around doing shows. They’re from Long Island, but they were here in Detroit. They have dates in Atlanta, the Carolinas and of course New York. So, number one, they’re outside. They definitely have a strong internet presence, but these guys are definitely out in the streets putting in work.
The next thing that impressed me was that they showed up with most of them rocking the Detroit gear and straight up rocked the crowd. I love lyricism, but i gotta be honest. A lot of times, the great lyricists make me yawn on stage. Open mic type setting where we came to listen to you spit bars is one thing, but when it’s time to perform your songs, you have to do more. These guys get it. I can tell they have rehearsed together. I know just by watching that they have seen some of hip hop’s greatest performers like Run DMC, The Lox or somebody along those lines to know what a great performance is. They straight up rocked it like a crew is supposed to.
Last but not least, I always hear artist complain about making content. These guys came to Detroit, put on a dope show as a crew, and took the opportunity to put together a mini documentary that features their performance and behind the scenes stuff from the visit. It was very, very dope. So, like I say, we’re here to highlight dope artists doing dope things to make a name for themselves. Maybe you learn something and find inspiration to do something dope yourself. The Mxnxpxly Family is definitely a crew you can learn from. Make sure you pay attention to what they’re putting down. The mini doc from the show here in Detroit is up above for you to check out.
