The Man Behind The MyDetroitHustle Movement
Detroit hip hop veteran OG-10 is the founder and driving force behind MyDetroitHustle.com, a platform dedicated to highlighting the world’s hottest underground, independent and unsigned hip hop.
With a recording career that dates back to the 1990s, OG-10 has lived through nearly every era of Detroit hip hop history. What started as a passion for creating music eventually evolved into a mission to support the culture, spotlight emerging artists, and share knowledge with the next generation of creators and entrepreneurs.
Today, OG-10 uses the MyDetroitHustle platform to shine light on dope music, provide game for artists, and help move the culture forward.
⸻
The Early Years: Mac-10
OG-10 first made his mark in Detroit hip hop during the 1990s under the name Mac-10.
His single “Soul On A Roll” became a cult favorite in the underground scene and the vinyl release has since become a highly sought-after collector’s item. Over time the record gained legendary status among collectors and hip hop historians.
During this era, OG-10 experienced the early independent grind firsthand—pressing vinyl, promoting records, and navigating the music industry long before social media and streaming existed.
Those experiences would later shape his philosophy about ownership, independence, and building your own platforms.
⸻
The Evolution: The 10
Later performing under the name The 10, he continued recording music and building his presence in the underground scene.
This era further expanded his understanding of the business side of hip hop and reinforced the importance of artists controlling their own narratives and creating their own opportunities.
Through decades in the culture, OG-10 has remained connected to the core values of underground hip hop:
authenticity, lyricism, independence, and community.
⸻
The Curator Era: OG-10
Today, OG-10 operates primarily as a curator, platform builder, and culture advocate.
Through MyDetroitHustle.com, he highlights dope music and artists through:
• Artist interviews on My Detroit HustleTV
• 24/7 rotation on MyDetroitHustle Radio
• Curated Spotify playlists
• Blog posts and artist spotlights
• Video features on the Picks page
• Social media promotion across the MyDetroitHustle network
The goal is simple:
Give talented underground artists a platform and help the culture grow.
⸻
The Music
Although OG-10 considers himself semi-retired as a recording artist, he still releases music when the inspiration hits.
One of the standout records from this era is “Grind N Hustle”, a song that has become the unofficial theme of the entire MyDetroitHustle movement.
Written, produced, and performed by OG-10, the record represents the mindset behind everything the platform stands for:
hard work, persistence, and building something from the ground up.
Supporters can listen to OG-10’s music and support directly through his Bandcamp page, where purchases help keep independent artists fairly compensated.
⸻
Why MyDetroitHustle Exists
After decades in hip hop, OG-10 recognized something important:
There are countless talented artists making incredible music that never gets the spotlight they deserve.
MyDetroitHustle was created to help change that.
The platform exists to:
• Highlight incredible underground artists
• Provide exposure opportunities
• Share game and knowledge with creators
• Build a community around real hip hop
It’s not about chasing algorithms or viral moments.
It’s about supporting the culture and the artists pushing it forward.

A Moment That Reminded Me Why I Do This
One morning I woke up and saw that Pretty Bulli and Kidd Called Quest had dropped their collaborative project Then & Now. Like I always do when artists in the MyDetroitHustle community release new music, I wanted to check it out and show some love.
I connected my phone to the car stereo, opened my streaming service, searched for the project, and pressed play.
As the intro started, I looked down at my phone in confusion.
I was waiting to hear music… but instead I heard my own voice.
For a second I thought I had accidentally opened the wrong app. I checked again to make sure I was playing the right project. I was.
The reason I was hearing my voice was because a clip from my interview with Pretty Bulli was used as the intro to the project. (Check out the My Detroit HustleTV interview with Pretty Bulli.)
The album features clips from several notable media figures that Pretty Bulli has interacted with over the years, including legends like Sway Calloway, Chuck D, and RZA.
To be included alongside voices like that was a moment of real pride and gratitude.
It reminded me that the work we’re doing through MyDetroitHustle — supporting underground, independent, and unsigned artists — is making an impact.
I want to personally thank Pretty Bulli and Kidd Called Quest for including me on this project and for allowing MyDetroitHustle to be part of the story.

Moments like this are proof that when you consistently show love to the culture, the culture shows love back.
