New Episode: Keep It Movin’

On this episode of the MyDetroitHustle.com podcast, the best hip hop podcast, we discuss keepin’ it moving instead of getting wrapped up in worrying about what haters have to say.  We have a clip from our interview with Big Bruh, which you can check out on our YouTube channel, MyDetroitHustle6438.   We also play “That’s a Bet” from the Big Bruh, J Deal project “Bloodline.” We take the time to introduce our new “Free Game” concept that you will be seeing here on the podcast, the website, MyDetroitHustle.com and all across our social media profiles.  We drop a few gems about the importance of marketing.  And speaking about marketing, Aida drops a marketing message about her book, “Ask the Alligator.” While we’re on the subject of Aida, we play “Gunsmoke” by S Eyes Finest, Aida and Mic Picasso.  Be sure to check out the freestyle verse by MyDetroitHustle.com’s own, OG-10.  We drop a little bit of “Free Game” warning you about the snakes in the grass surrounding you and then Pontiac, Michigan artist On Point breaks down the meaning of his song “Breathe.”  While we’re on the subject, we play “Breathe” so you can get a taste of what he’s talking about.  We play another My Detroit HustleTV interview clip, this time from our interview with J Roberts. We play his joint, “Praying with Dirty Hands” featuring Benny the Butcher, which is extremely dope.  We break down the songs on the MyDetroitHustle.com Playlist #6, which is also available on Spotify, and drop a little knowledge by giving the definition of a liability.  We play one of the joints from that playlist, “Separate But Equal” by the homie Cydney Poitier and also drop some “Free Game” about taking stuff to the next level.   We play the hot joint by Devious One, “How Ya Feel,” then close things out with a thought about independent artists and pursuing radio play.

A Tip on How to Promote Your Music or Product

This episode includes as segment about how to promote your music and products.  We also have a dope little segment telling you about a joint from Buffalo’s Pretty Bulli.  We discuss the criteria for what gets coverage on MyDetroitHustle.com.  Then we highlight a hustler we think you all should know about, OG Tec.  There is a review of Dame Black’s hot new album and a joint from OG-10’s archive “Angel of Death.” We discuss how some of the hottest MC’s out right now are ladies like Pretty Bulli, Nejma Nefertiti, Indigo Phoenyx and Aida.  We address good customer service with and example from an interaction with Big-T Beatz and we have a little advice for people seeking jobs.  

A Unique Approach 

It seems like everyone is launching a podcast now.  I don’t knock all the new podcasters.  A podcast is a very valuable tool to market your brand.  With that being said, I feel like I needed to do something different to make this podcast stand out.  Most podcasts are groups of people sitting around a table just kicking it or an interview show.  What’s different about the MyDetroitHustle.com podcast?  Well this podcast is a musical podcast.  It is composed of musical segments where topics are addressed with a beat behind it.  So, it’s like a talking album or mixtape.  You get to nod your head while listening to some excellent game.  I’ve had people approach me about being on the podcast to do an interview and it just hasn’t happened yet because I’m still figuring out how to make that fit in our format. I have some excellent ideas I want to try, so you can expect to start hearing some form of interviews added very soon.  Just don’t expect them to be done the same as other podcasts.
